Pete Murray’s is an unlikely story… a rising rugby star that was so severely injured that he had to leave his sport behind. He picked up an acoustic guitar, taught himself how to play it and recorded an indie CD that he sold after shows from the back of his Kombi Van.

His debut album, Feeler, snowballed through old-fashioned word of mouth and sell out shows until he became Australia’s most popular singer/songwriter in 2005. ‘Feeler’ went on to sell 6 x platinum in Australia 450,000 copies and earned Murray 12 ARIA Award nominations.

Pete and his band have sold out repeated homeland tours, headlined festival performances in Australia and abroad, with sold out dates in England, Ireland and Continental Europe.

11 years on from the release of his breakthrough studio album and now with 4 x studio albums and 2 x special edition releases under this belt, Pete’s live audiences are the strongest they’ve ever been - and this unlikely success story continues.

We had a blast at Kandooma in 2014. We met some great people, had plenty of quality surf and the gigs were too much fun in an amazing setting.
